Pennsylvania DUers. Is the Keystone State Really in Play?

Is this some sort of political gimmick by Romney, or is it a real strategy?

Here's my fear. Pennsylvania has no early voting, it did not get the Obama ads defining Romney early in the campaign, there was super storm Sandy that could hold down turnout in the Eastern part of the state, including Philly, there is the coal country message from Romney that could resonate in the Western part of the state, including Pittsburgh, you have a Repuke Sec. of State to help suppress the vote and Romney is spending $2.5 million in TV buys in a state that hasn't seen many ads at the Presidential level all year.

Ease my worry.

Concerned in Massachusetts.

We can lose Ohio and still win. It's just that OH would make it very difficult for them to win.

we can't afford to lose anywhere else. NH, NV, Col., Wisc., Iowa all have to go our way in order to eek out a victory without Ohio. If we win Penn. and Ohio (and I think we will), we win easy.

Fla, Va and Ohio. We need one of them. I like our Ohio chances the best.

Obama has other paths that don't have to include OH. If Obama wins VA, NH, WI, & NV (with PA) but NOT OH, he gets 270.

If he wins NH, WI, CO, IA & NV (with PA) but NOT OH, he gets 272.

but I didn't bring this up to be negative.

I actually think we'll win Va, Col., NH, NV, Iowa, Ohio and Wisc. My prediction is 303 EV, so please don't misinterpret my concern.

It's just that there's been so little news about Penn. this election cycle.

FINALLY, after trying once again to make us a "swing" state at the very beginning of this election cycle last fall, the media gave it up. And they kept us blue on EV maps all spring and summer. Then suddenly, since Rmoney finds that he still has all this money and no place to spend it (because all the broadcast time has been bought up in other states), he decided to drop some money here (and in MN) for the rethug governor's benefit. And the greedy media, who wanted to get off of the Hurricane Sandy coverage and back to the election coverage, went merrily right along with this fantasy.

I hope this will truly be the LAST time they claim PA is a "swing" state. They won't tell you that NJ rotates both Dem and rethug governors too plus NJ voted for Poppy Bush in 1992 when PA went for Clinton. Yet NJ is never called a "swing" state.

It's a media construct that keeps making it "swing". There are over 1.2 million MORE registered Democrats in PA than rethugs. The rim counties of Philly are now blue or purple. There is no rethug "there" here except during off-year elections when Democrats stupidly sit home at election time because they generally don't live angry and paranoid lives like rethugs, who seem to take out there frustration at the polls.

4 to 6% win for our President. My wife who isn't political at all told me we are voting for the President. I think it has something to do with her wanting control over her own body.

from IBEW Local 103 in Dorchester.

I feel good about her winning. Labor is big in Mass. and we have been working extra hard to bring in the blue collar vote for her.

I was a Warren Delegate at the state convention and I have met her a couple of times.

She will win by 4 to 6 points. If Obama carries Mass. by more than 18%, she's a winner.

Romney was defined and behind. There's a flurry of Romney ads in the last days here, with a few Obama ads. The Romney ads are completely aimed at previous Obama voters who are now undecided. The ads reassure them that its OK not to vote for Obama. It doesn't look like the Romney campaign believes they can shake loose any committed Obama voters.

Obama is going to win PA, or if he doesn't, he'll lose in so many other places that PA won't matter.

And the voting machines cannot be tampered with. Sandy was not much of an issue in Philly. Ironically, many of the regions hardest hit were a bit West and more predominantly Republican.

We asked her how it was going....she said she canvassed in Mount Joy on Saturday, and was pleased. Many people voting for Obama. Also said today(Sunday) in Mountville was going well. However, Lancaster county always goes Red.

I do believe Philadelphia will carry the state for Obama.

The rMoney adds are back to back during commercial breaks. Disgusting ones with Pat Boone and Clint Eastwood. I mute them. Can't wait till tomorrow is over. Never want to see slimy Mitt again.

Obama has a really good add on Romney, Outsourcing, China.
