The Romney campaign (or someone in it) leaked the story that Mitt Romney asked Chris Christie to appear with him at a rally Saturday night in Morrisville, PA, and Christie turned him down.
Then an advisor to Christie said there was no such request!
Put on your thinking caps. Who made the leak?
The leak is a disaster for Romney. Plays as tantamount to a formal Christie endorsement of Obama, or prediction of an Obama win. (It will be a strictly inside the beltway/blogosphere story, but if it was the lead on the news it would decapitate Romney's campaign. It's that bad.)
So the leak came from somebody in the campaign wanting to sabotage Christie for 2016.
Ryan's people. (Or someone within the Romney campaign already angling to get behind some other Republican in '16, which is even worse.)
Same shit Palin was doing the last week of 2008.

That's dumber than thinking Palin could be Pres., at least she had a solid following. Ryan's philosophy is being debunked by Obama's win.

(1,206 posts)I don't care whether it was a Republican or Democrat, you cannot ask the executive of a state that just experienced the worst natural disaster in anyone's lifetime, to go do political work. It was crass for Romney to ask, and uncouth to leak it.
