(2,397 posts)Howard Dean as DNC Chair and let him run his 50 State Strategy. I am so pissed he is not there. If he was there now, Mittins entire campaign would be eating dust tomorrow. Actually last month because he wouldn't get over 40-45 in any national poll. It would have been over looooooong ago. Our (OFA) ground game would be like Oregon running up 50 points in the ......first half.

(15,435 posts)I was wondering if I should hold onto my bottle of Klonopin at the same time! NOT to end it, but just to keep myself in a fog long enough to peek out knowing I would have to face a reality I'm not sure I can fathom!
This AM my husband told me how much of a wreck I've been. BUT then, he added that he too had it on his mind quite a lot! THAT shocked me! I'm the political radical in our family!
Could this really be true? Please let it be! And to be honest I am a LIBERAL & know Obama is going to govern to my right! I know that he's ALREADY approved the southern portion of the pipeline that I'm completely opposed to.
BUT Romney/Ryan will be a nightmare that scares me to death! SUPREME COURT, No 1 reason to begin with & then it's on & on with an endless list of horrible policies they want to pursue.

(3,220 posts)I have taken Nate Silver with a grain of salt this election, along with all polls. While they try to paint an accurate picture of projected votes, there's a number of factors and intricacies that can throw a wrench in the gears, so to speak.
If these chances were accurate, though, that would be great. There's no way to tell other than trusting Nate Silver's model.
I'm holding my breath until they call it tomorrow night. Until then, nothing will make me feel better.

(2,957 posts)There's way, way to much going on in terms of voter intimidation, coercion and obstruction. We also have the polling problems in FL and OH and governors and sec's of state who aren't doing much to solve polling place access problems. Late voting machine software updates - the list goes on.
Republicans have a way of pulling these things out, and Democrats have a way of not investigating them or fighting back very hard.
It ain't over 'til the fate lady sings (or the Supreme Court Rules).

(3,596 posts)I recognize he has a good reputation for accuracy and analysis but let's not let that number fool us. We have a very close election ahead of us.

(18,115 posts)Yes we have to vote. But, it is not close and hasn't really been the entire general election campaign. Obama has held a steady lead of 30-50 electoral votes in the polls.

(6 posts)We need to get everybody to the polls, especially people who voted for President Obama in 2008, but aren't sure if they are going to vote this year. The intimidation tactics have begun in earnest from the Romney kool-aid drinkers (otherwise known as the party of the 3 R's - rich, racist, or religious). The latest tactic is to continually espouse the prediction of a landslide win for romney. We will win if people get out and vote!

This Nate Silver number needs to be at 100 percent, before I feel comfortable. 1 percent chance of that
Asshole Romney becoming president is still too high for comfort.

(21,056 posts)I think it means God willing the OP is right, and Mittens tries to serve money as his god, as evidenced by all the activity he does trying to squeeze the USA from getting a proper portion in tax percentage from his earnings, and therefore, his uncaring attitude about the poor and suffering, as opposed to Obama's stances, means he's not a very good guy and most people realize it... I just hope that nearly all of those people will go vote! Too many people refuse to go vote, it's frustrating to say the least!

(1,412 posts)Hi,
In a last-minute directive issued Friday night that could disenfranchise thousands of Ohioans and tip the outcome of the election, Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted changed requirements for submitting provisional ballots on Election Day.
The directive requires voters, not election officials, to fill out a confusing form listing the type of ID they provided to vote. This new directive is a clear violation of Ohio law and puts even more votes at risk of not being counted.
Secretary Husted has also instructed election officials to not count ballots where that part of the form has not been correctly filled out by the voter.
That's why I signed a petition to Jon Husted, Secretary of State and Governor John Kasich.
Will you sign this petition? Click here:

Thanks!
