When you have as big a clusterbleep to clean up as the one W created, it takes time. Without Obama's actions, we go back to 1932 levels of umemployment.

Tell your dumbass brother he should thank God Obama goosed the economy (stimulus) before his bank failed.

we all know the profiteering and tax breaks have only benefited the 1%. When jobs are outsourced by rmoney and his peers, the jobless slip into poverty. When repuke members of COngress won't pass a jobs bill, more people become impoverished. etc. Get your mojo on!

... do so because REPUBLICAN POLICIES have suppressed wages for so long now that we are now scraping bottom ....

By denying unionization ... By denying workers the ability to have a say in their own working conditions. those policies have led to an erosion of buying power as family wages droop and family expenses skyrocket .... People cannot buy when they don't have money, and when they don't buy, the downturn ripples through the entire community.

On the other hand, Corporate America has, on the whole, starved the economic engine by skimping on wages, while they treat themselves quite nicely for a job well done .... THAT is GOP policy at work ....

Yeah .... It isn't Bush's fault that the nation suffers from so much poverty - It's the REPUBLICANS fault ....

Since 1980 the money has been drifting towards the top. When that happens there is less money for the bottom to spend. When the bottom spends money it touches at least 6-7 hands. When it is at the top it just sits there. CEOs used to make 30 times the lowest worker, now it is over 300 times. If minimum wage would have kept up to infaltion it would be over $20/hr.

When a president assumes office the previous president's economic policies are still in effect. It actually is in effect for up to a year or so. The new president's economic policies don't even take root or start to make an effect until the second or third year. After the serious recession Obama found himself in when he took office, Bush's economic boulder was still going down hill. The momentum carried into Obama's administration. It just doesn't stop when Obama takes office. So of course the victims of that boulder crashing into the ground when it did stop is going to find some people in some bad ways. The purpose of the ACA was to prevent people from falling further into poverty from health care costs that can bankrupt people. And the ACA isn't even fully in motion yet.

because he and his banking brethren gave signature loans to people who could not afford them, doing no underwriting, just packaging the loans up and selling them to some fool who thought AIG was insuring the bad loans.

Still more of the financial industry, including bankers were betting on those loans as pure speculation.

When the loans started to go south he and his buddies were caught with their collective pants down, not enough capital to cover the insurance at AIG and not enough capital at the banks to cover their bets!

Who had to bail them all out? The taxpayers. Now those same tools who caused the poverty want us all to vote for Romney so Romney/Ryan can force the very people he is complaining about to give up federal programs to pay for his tax cut!

With all due respect, screw him and all of those jerks in that industry!

That's what this sounds like.

Why is it NOT okay to hold Bush responsible? He spent 8 years destroying the economy.

Someone here had a great line: If Bush got 8 years to create the mess, Obama gets 8 to fix it.

from loaning money to the very small businesses that Rmoney wants created? As for the liberal party, he seems to be behind times. It was both Clinton and Obama who have been two of the best moderate republican leaning Presidents the Democrats have had.

And... plenty of conservative republicans have blamed Bush. If not, then why hasn't that shithead been invited to their very own conventions--twice. If the conservatives think that Bush is so great, where has he been through two-presidential elections???
