Glory Hallelujah! My wife, the Republican, voted for President Obama!

She couldn't bring herself to vote for Rmoney. "That guy's crazy!" were her exact words.

Okay, she voted republican on all the down-ballot races...

But that's okay. Senator Maria Cantwell is going to win in a walk. Jay Inslee is in a tight race with Rob Mckenna for Governor, but I think he'll come out ahead.

But Woo-Hoo!!! She voted for President Obama!!!

Two things:

1. She's an evangelical, pentacostal, charismatic, spirit-filled, Bible-believing, etc, etc, Christian. No way she could vote for a Mormon. Not even on a "shares my values" platform.

2. She never lived down the fact that by voting for McCain in 2008, she was also voting for Sarah Palin. She despised Palin from the moment she learned who she was. She was furious with McCain. "She's an idiot! Did he think I would vote for him just because his running mate was a woman?!?!?" She and I watched 'Game Change' together, and she spent the whole time shaking her head. "What a moron that woman is..."

One final thing: we all live with, share, and laugh at stereotypes of conservative repukes. My wife is not one of them. Personally, I'd consider her a conservative Democrat with one issue: abortion. Other than that, she's pretty moderate. Her favorite President is Jimmy Carter!

people in our world. Many think that he may not have been anywhere near the best President that this country has seen, but he is the best Human on this planet IMHO. I love this man.

I am an Agnostic, but if I were into a God I would certainly be following President Carter.

Your wife is actually a Christian.

She's a true Christian.

If Jimmy's her fave, that settles it, as Jimmy was perhaps are most Christian President in history, well...at least modern history.

I'm surprised as to how two different-party people can be married...I couldn't marry a con...sorry.

Good on you bro.

How can you live with her?

If she's an evangelical, pentacostal, charismatic, spirit-filled, Bible-believing, etc, etc, Christian, this is a woman who totally abrogates thinking for herself. She allows others, mainly male others, to tell her what she thinks. Perhaps in that case she should be comfortable letting you tell her what to think.

But it is EXACTLY that willingness to give up all independence that makes me crazy.

How can she ge all of the above and NOT be a stereotype of a conservative repuke? That is the definition of them.

I also am crazed by the Catholics (and I was raised as one) who think they can consider themselves good Catholics while opposing the Church's stand on such issues as abortion. It is my considered opinion that by remaining in the Church, those Catholics guarantee that the Church will never evolve out of the Middle Ages.

But I should also say that I am very glad to hear that she voted for Obama.
