. . . I'm completely undone. So very emotional and touching. All of it familiar; yet, delivered with a conviction and heart that eclipses any political address I've ever witnessed.
Barack Obama is a dear man. He just made the speech of a lifetime -- about us. Can't really say how much I appreciate that. Damn proud to be a Democrat tonight. Tomorrow, we'll affirm just how great a nation we've aspired to become.

(39,374 posts)I knew it would be. Iowa. Where the whole run began. He practically lived there in 2007. An incredible race, too, with Hillary and Edwards, Biden, Dodd, Kucinich, Sharpton...Damn. I so want this story to continue, and it looks like it will.

(Hm, interesting. The built-in spellcheck on my system (Firefox/Xubuntu) recognizes "Romney" but not "Obama".)

(190 posts)When he spoke of the people in Iowa believing in him and taking their family in in 2007, he began tearing up. He is the real deal. It's demeaning that Romney is seen as a credible opponent by some.

(5,810 posts)or a reflection of the lights......then I saw him wipe that tear away and realized what that moment meant to him. I couldn't help but get teary eyed myself. This man has the best interest of the people he represents. He has heart and that is something Mitt will never have and cannot be faked, although Mitt certainly tried to give that impression. I was so proud of President Obama last night as the sincerity of his words came through. This country is so lucky to have had him the past four years and, if the election is done fairly and squarely, we will have him for four more years. Good luck, President Obama!! We're behind you, respect you and will never regret the support and votes we gave to you.

(24,096 posts)I have unwavering faith in him - no one like him around in my generation.
and feel fortunate to witness such a good person at work.
He makes me want to be a better person - but I'll put that off for another day.
