Immediately after the POTUS' speech.
One angry sounding Republican woman (military background I assume) said she will not vote for Romney because of his lack of military service and 60 of her family members will not vote for him either. Forgot to mention that the caller said she was voting for Obama!!!
A Christian Republican (Fundie I assume) who vehemently disagrees with POTUS' lack of morals (abortion issue) but DESPISES Mitt Romney because of his lies and flipflops on issues. Says she doesn't know what to do but sounds like she won't be voting for Romney.
Of course there are the delusional nutjob crackpots who swear Romney will win in a landslide or believe there are secret pockets of Republican voters who will turn out tomorrow...
Independent man who thinks Obama will win, slim margin, but remembers the economic crash and the wars and all the other bad things that occurred when Obama took office. Brings up Bush and Cheney lying about the Iraq war. Forgot to mention that he was "leaning Obama".
Very interesting...........and surprising if one is a semi-frequent listener to the CSPAN call-in segment. I have to wonder how many more Republicans and Indies are going through similar feelings of misgivings?
In the meantime, Romney's final campaign speech of the 2012 campaign is negative, doom and gloom, same ole boring, snarling coming from what sounds like a angry, rapid dog.
POTUS had 20,000 happy, smiling faces, maybe more.
Romney had "several thousand" snarling, rapid fiends
4 MORE YEARS!!!

(39,374 posts)Made me think that there are probably more than a few voters out there like that. Don't see her voting for Obama, but she might just sit it out.

(17,651 posts)Guess I was shocked because usually these people are completely unhinged when they call in.
We can hope...........sitting it out is just fine with me!

(27,247 posts)If I were calling C-SPAN right now, I'd probably say the same thing. And *60* of her family members are not voting for Romney?? That says "major exaggeration" right there.

(17,651 posts)she had a heavy accent and sounded like an older woman, not sure what her ethnicity was and perhaps I'm reaching waaaay out there with my stereotyping and broad paint brush but she very well could have a huge extended family. And what if she did? What if her feelings were genuine and perhaps they've lost a family member or had one injured in any number of our wars and that family has a strong patriotic pride in the members that serve? What if they learned of Mitt Romney's deferments and preference to ride bicycles in France then to serve our country in Vietnam?
Nothing's impossible even if it seems improbable.
I'm hoping for a huge win tomorrow!! I want a definite rejection of the Republican ideology. I hope we can see it, again.
sigh..........gonna be a long day tomorrow..........

(27,247 posts)But even in my much smaller family, the service members tend to favor the Republican, regardless. This election doesn't seem to be much different, although there certainly seems to be less enthusiasm for Romney among them than there was for McCain.

(16,350 posts)Wow. That's something. I keep reminding myself that Obama is truly beloved by a lot of people. Romney, not so much. NO ONE loves that guy.
