Memorize this most infamous line in political history.

"How many of our Christians have what I call the Goo-Goo Syndrome,Good governmnent? They want everybody to vote. I don't want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of the people. They never have been from the beginning of our country and they are not now. As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down."

--Paul Weyrich, Father of the Right wing movement. Founder of the Heritage Foundation.

...it was used by city political machines like NYC's Tammany Hall to derisively describe opposition who wanted to reduce the unbridled power of the machines.

Very telling that Weyrich uses it against people who are nominally on his side. After all, he was trying to build a political machine of his own, not bring one down.
