How long were the lines where you voted--and are you in blue/red area?

I voted in Madison, WI (definitely a blue area) on first day of Early voting and there was a long line when I came in and several people joined the line as we waited. It went pretty smoothly. You?

that was 2 weeks ago in early voting.

By the tim my wife voted later in that week there had already been almost 600 early votes (she was #592) in a polling place that registered a total of about 1300 votes total in 2008.

There are a lot of "rich" (by local standards) Republicans in this district, though, because it has some fairly high-priced lakeshore property, so this may not be a good thing. There were also long lines for the Walker recall election last June, and we all know how that went.

Maybe a dozen people ahead of me, a couple who signed up for assistance, a relatively short ballot (President, Senator, Representative, two Constitutional amendments), four machines (for a population of around 2,000), no waiting, no cover charge.

It was busier than I've ever seen it -- even for the 2008 election.

Three precincts vote at a local school. They had election helpers lining up people according to their precinct and sent people in as soon as spots opened up.

I was there for no more than 10 minutes.

It was efficient, and fast.
