For me:
- San Francisco School Board
- Whether Pete Stark is re-elected to Congress in the East Bay against a Democratic challenger
- CA Props 30, 32 and 38
- San Francisco parks improvement bond
- State Assembly race between two dems in the west side of SF.
- Race for San Francisco Supervisor in the Richmond District.

(24,411 posts)I hope he is booted out of office. He's ahead two points. However, it's going to be a tough fight, as he was recently redistricted, and he now has to woo voters from Ames, Iowa. That's quite a tall drink of water for Mr. King--as Ames is the home of Iowa State University where 25,000 students who overwhelmingly support Obama live. The town of 60,000 is a typical, liberal university town.
I know King is a national race, but that is the one I will be watching close. It's local to me!

(20,776 posts)Dianne Feinstein...I used to like her, when she was mayor of the city, but she has changed a lot since going to the Senate. Barbara Boxer on the other hand is one of my favorite politicians, so that was an easy choice.

Senator Ben Cardin (There is a R who has strong support in Western and Eastern Md, plus an independent who has been spending millions and may split the D vote. I'm actually concerned about this one.)

(22,380 posts)just in case you don't recognize Virginia Foxx, 5th district NC - it's because the depiction flatters the ugly tea bagger.
I have gone to tea bag events just to photograph her, sitting in her flag imprinted vest, and I clapped every time God was mentioned, or "taking back the country", just so that I would not be discovered. Because it's dangerous.
Our local paper has had letters to the editor falling all over each other praising the challenger, the Dems are at work, and I'm pleased about that. But I don't hold out much hope to get her out. She has tons of money and the counties around us, in the woods with the stills, are a deep red.
