Not sure it has to be a picture ID though. I think something like a utility bill is sufficient.

I used my SS card as my id just to piss the liddle' ole' bidddies there running the polls. They don't like for anyone to come in without a drivers license, which is NOT required. Last time, I used a utility bill because I had it in my mail that day, but I wanted something without an address for them to question this time. They hooted and carried on last time when I came in with the utility bill, even though it IS on the list of acceptable id's..even had to call the county registrar's office to try to get out of taking it. A few days after the last election, the registrars office personally called ME about my using a utility bill as id to let me know that they did indeed count my vote. That kinda pissed me off because I didn't do anything wrong and they damn well better count my vote. We're talking about a backwoods area, maybe 2 thousand people registered and not even a quarter will vote in regular elections. I was 97 today at around 8:20-30ish The poll workers have a list of 15 things such as passports, gun or fishing license, utility bills with the address, etc and they couldn't figure it out. Next time I'm using my picture id pool pass and today my husband is using his fishing license which doesn't have a pic. Did I mention this is mainly a republican area? The thing is that I actually know people with no state id. Not everyone drives, but they all get to vote.

5. It's called voter suppression. If that had been in force where I am, I would have shown my passport

and said, "Because I feel I'm in a foreign country." But being rude to the poor poll workers ain't cool, better to say it in a call to the state's secretary of state office.

Besides, the passport itself became required by the Shrubbites Colon POWELL and Condo RICE, for friendly countries it wasn't used for before them.
