And they all did. I did point to my signature in the book (upside down) when the poll worker couldn't find it right away & she had watched me read the info sheet on the new "law" while was waiting for the people ahead of me.
I also was given a paper ballot instead of being offered the option of using a machine. I have used paper ballots the last 4 elections & I have no idea if there is a notation of that in the book or not. It was just odd that the others were asked & I wasn't.
My wife voted just after 7 this morning & they didn't ask her for ID either.

(16,230 posts)they announced that no ID was required but that they would appreciate us showing it as it would help them find our names in the signature book. I had my driver's license with me but I had already made up my mind that I wasn't showing any id, so I compromised and showed them my voter registration card just to help move things along.

(31,849 posts)You are a 50-something white male and were carrying a Book of Mormon, displaying your NRA and concealed carry license and you were wearing your heavily soiled ted nugett tee shirt and you had to wipe the Cheetos off you hands in order not leave the orange on the ballot.

(11,411 posts)At my bank, for example, the teller calls me by name before I have gotten out anything to suggest who I am. She was recognizing me long before I would recognize her outside the bank. Some long time poll workers might even recognize people who vote regularly even if they only see them on that occasion. That's why I think that it would be risky for anyone to try to double vote.
