That said if they are harassing voters, they should be kicked out, no question.

If there is, I haven't heard anything about that.

3. I disagree. I was a Dem observer and the Rep observer and I had to work together.

It was the ONLY way either of us could do our jobs because the check-in people weren't bothering to say the names loud enough for us to hear them. We had to help each other with the cross-off sheets and ask to see the log book during lulls - "Not on my list, check yours." Sure, we completely disagreed with each other politically, but we both had a civic duty to perform and it required cooperation. If only Congress could figure that out.

4. I don't think the current batch of rethug observers has any interest in performing their civic duty

As evidenced by the many reports we've seen of rethug observers demanding photo ID (in direct violation of court orders), challenging a highly disproportionate number of minority voters, etc.

5. Nah. The Republican observer at the polls today was the same one I worked with.

My wife and I were #221 and #222 on the registration list. That's actually a high number for before 2:00 in our precinct. All went smoothly. My service dog helped me vote. They didn't ask for ID. AND, I pulled my standard joke of saying I was my wife (by name). They're getting used to that old joke now and just roll their eyes.
