There were, I think, a total of 7, maybe 8, Republicans on the ballot that spanned three, endless pages. Two of them were Romney/Ryan, and three were for the water reclamation district (three from each party to choose from, you get to pick a maximum of three).

My Congressman did have a Republican running against him, but my state rep and state senator did not.

where I live, Santa Fe NM, were unopposed Democrats. Unfortunately, such one-sidedness is everywhere. And it's not good.

OK, A couple years back our previous Register of Deeds decided to retire during the middle of her term. By law her replacement is chosen by the governor. Well, Scott Walker chose a relative of one of his cronies with no experience whatsoever in vital records. There is a Democrat running against her, however, I still think the Walker appointee is going to win due to the fact that she is a Republican.

But there were two or three races for judges that only had dems too, so that was nice. I couldn't bring myself to vote for the libertarians, so I left those blank.

but there were only a couple of those. I was shocked to see the dems uncontested. I wish more of the races had a democratic option. That is a BIG reason why Texas remains so red, I think.

I guess they feel they have a better chance as republicans, but that is weird. Hopefully they will act like dems in office, assuming they win.

I'm definitely going to check this year's vote counts- and see how many people who voted overall did NOT vote for the unopposed repugs. that should give me some idea as to what kind of base there is to start with.
