And prosecuted/punished effectively? No one is even trying!

They've had at least 12 years to try to fix this appalling situation, with the hackable machines and the crooked partisan election officials in certain states allowed to count millions of votes. Not a peep, except to ridicule those who ask if we can find out what is happening through a legitimate investigation.

No, those who think we need to investigate our election system are "conspiracy theorists." What more can we be than theorists when our voting officials ignore evidence and won't hold hearings?

This democracy will fail if we don't get our Congresscritters to regulate federal elections in all the states to a single national standard. They have that power, but are afraid to challenge the Repubs, who love all the twiddly little local rules that they can scam and cheat with. They are willing to fight to the death over those quaint old rules, just like the Confederate States were willing to fight for state's rights. "State's Rights" is all about preserving slavery in a few states the Repubs can rule like the old days. There may not literally be slaves, but racism and all the other cultural eccentricities remain.

"States Rights" is an agenda to skew the power to minority states, which just happen to be havens for plantation owners and corporate monopolies. Freedom from regulation means freedom from the reach of the law--freedom to commit atrocities, to become minor potentates. This philosophy which bolsters oligarchs and treats everyone else like slaves.

And "State's Rights" gave us the electoral college which year after year steals our equal votes and gives them to slave-owning states, (as it were. )

That is unAmerican. Our next popular movement as Progressives should be voting reform, or nothing but gridlock and decaying economic power will be our future.
