I'm not brave enough to venture in there, but I am curious...any meltdowns yet?

The freepers openly joke that the site is powered by hamsters.

(507 posts)I remembered the PUMAs and went to see that like Larouchies they're still going, with all of the internal factional hatred of the wackier parts of the Marxist left of the 20th century and deluded thinking.

(8,492 posts)There was a thread about us!!! It was basically calling us delusional for thinking Pres. Obama would be reelected. More claims about a Romney landslide.

(265 posts)I would be surprised if they didn't post stuff like that LOL
UPDATE: They may not be talking about the Black Panthers, but FOX "News" is. Apparently a group of Angry Black Man (TM) are standing near the polling site.

Living at the nexus of all things acorn, I'm not seeing it. No hatred here.

(813 posts)I normally don't go there. I get headaches all too easily as it is.
However, I just went there, and looked at a thread called "2012 Election - the death or re-birth of the United States."
It linked to a rather paranoid article by the same name:
http://www.coachisright.com/no-election-more-instructive-more-frightening-than-this/
The article said that this election is the most important in the lifetime of our country.
It is, but not in the way that they think.
I think this election is a tipping point. If the Republicans are given control once again, the excesses of the George W. Bush era are going to seem like moderation compared to the corporate takeovers, further shredding of individual rights (RMoney openly supports the Patriot Act) and social Darwinism that Paul Ryan openly espouses.
I am a disabled veteran on Social Security and Medicare. If this lot take control, that will very possibly mean the end of both of those for me.
My wife and I voted this morning as soon as the polls opened. I proudly voted Democratic; I wonder if I'll get the chance to do so again, given Grover Norquist's stated desire to "alter" the democratic process and his control over the GOP.
I live in Michigan. I know that so much hinges on my state, and that frightens me even more.
