Oklahoma Voters: Did every precinct give out fine point pens to fill in boxes on the ballot?

We used to have felt-tip, marker-like pens which easily made a mark to fill the space on the ballot. I was aware they changed the machines and ballot style earlier this year. Now there are medium-large rectangles and you are instructed to fill them completely. They provided fine-point pens with spotty ink.

Voters at my polling place were universally baffled and struggling with the pens. The poll worker answering questions about the pens was irritable and kept snapping at people to read the instructions. People were questioning her because the pens they were providing seemed like a mistake.

It took an unnecessarily long time to fill out the ballot and some people were having difficulty doing it. One man gave up and used a pen from his pocket, fed his ballot into the machine, and then got chastised.

she had a little more trouble.. took her a little longer, but I wouldn't worry about it. I really was not that big a deal.

DH & I will be going after work, however I have several co-workers that have voted early & they have not said anything about the pens.

Even held up the ballot to the light several times to make sure it was filled, solid black. Might be a good idea to take a black felt tip with you if you haven't voted yet in Oklahoma.

to fill in each box, but I didn't notice anyone complaining (which doesn't mean no one did, I just didn't witness it). I glanced around at some empty booths first to make sure all were equipped with the same pens.

They normally go on Election Day in their own town but since they did early voting they had to go to a town next to them. As some people poster here...in their town they used *black felt markers* and drew a line from the office to the name of the person you want to elect.
They went for early voting in the other town and they had to use these little ball point pens with the rectangles!
So I read her the OP information from here and she goes GREAT...she and her daughter didn't realize til it was too late that she should have colored the box in, all they did was put a big X in the box. She had seen other voters' ballots with the filled in boxes (no privacy in their voting system, you can see them as they are handed in) but by then the machine had already sucked her ballot in!
She went back the next day with her spouse who still needed to vote and she started up a conversation with a poll worker. She thinks the lady got insulted when she said to her "ya know, I moved from the East Coast to here 26 yrs ago and even back then, THEY had electronic machines...WHY do WE keep having to use pen and paper like this?". Lady's response was "all THOSE places envy us, you know, WE have much more accurate voting results!".
After that little exchange the lady wouldn't talk to her anymore so my relative got the feeling the worker got insulted.
As I told my relative, guess they don't care because it's not like OK is a "too close to call" kind of state!

and get the lottery number I asked for, but the ballot scanner has to have completely-filled rectangles, only using a special ink?
