Hi,
I just became a citizen a couple of weeks ago. Made sure I registered at the booth at my oath ceremony. My wife became a citizen last Friday, and since it was a smaller venue, I knew they wouldn't have a voter registration booth there. So I took the day off, drove her straight from the oath ceremony to the registrar of voters, got a ballot and we made sure she could vote. People say 2 votes for Obama in Cali doesn't matter, but voting is what matters - plus all the important duty of voting on propositions, city councils and county measures. Also explained to the kids the whole process and though its not glamorous, it's all the more important in these times.
And if anyone is inspired by this, I would have extended the effect of what I did.
Lets all have a good day today. 4 more years!

Have been living here for the past 13 years, so have gotten used to the bad telly and weak pilsners. Its the punditry that I still have to get used to!

And yes, will try my best to inspire more people to be more civic duty aware in the following years.
