It was KO who got many of us through the Bush years, who raged against the machine and displayed great courage in bucking the suits in ways that brought us Rachel, Ed, Al, Lawrence.
I owe him a great deal of gratitude.
Thanks, KO, wherever you are.

(32,886 posts)I think he would have called it out in plain language often. I've tried to do that on my radio show but obviously I dont have a small fraction of the reach a national cable news show has.
Keith would have been out there calling Romney out for each and every lie every day and there have been a lot of lies to call out. 917 in the last 42 weeks or so according to that guy who writes on Rachel's blog.
It would have been a beautiful season of rants for KO.

(32,886 posts)I'm certainly not going on the air and attacking a religion.
DollarBillHines
(1,922 posts)would you not condemn those practices?
If you actually delve into the Mormon tenet, you might think differently. Considering the fact that Jos. Smith's dream was having LDS in the White House, I believe that tenet should see the light of day.
Look at it another way. If Obama happened to be a Democratic Mormon, do you think the pundits on the Right would not be screaming about this tenet at the top of their lungs?
Fire with Fire, I say.
You really should check out that Google link, it is very interesting. Watch the vid that is half-way down the page. LDS had it banned from YouTube, but it found its way back in.
Who says that Mormonism is a religion? It's a cult, kind of like The People's Temple but a heck of a lot more organized.
stevenleser
(32,886 posts)I cannot do this to another religion after the historical way Jews have been portrayed by bigots. Not going to do it.

(19,926 posts)We need more of that. MSNBC is watered down now. Even Rachel has gone kind of flat. She gets too into the horse race of it all and on too many occasions I've seen her be "even handed" when it was NOT called for at all, the truth was clear and she allowed there to be "two sides". And LOD has been getting on my nerves lately, too much with the name dropping and how he wrote for West Wing. We get it Lawrence, it's not about you though.

(13,435 posts)I've found the best Keith replacement out there is Eliot Spitzer, over on CurrentTV -- though Eliot lacks Keith's fire.

(13,776 posts)I remember watching as his show slowly, slowly, inexorably crept to the left... he was brave and had the courage of his convictions. His opinions were not necessarily popular back then. For a long time he was our lone voice. And now we have MSNBC--not perfect, there are plenty of people I wouldn't mind seeing the back of--with Rachel, Chris, Martin, Ed, Al, Lawrence, et al. All thanks to Keith.

His leaving MSNBC allowed the directional change at Current. I toggled between both of them equally at commercial breaks or if I wanted to watch something in HD, I switched to MSNBC.
