No matter which side wins, it will be doom and gloom unlike any we have ever heard since the last election.
The only thing the right-wing will have to look forward to is December 21st, when the end of the world actually happens, according to the Mayan calendar.
Somebody is going to lose. There will be gnashing of teeth and ominous predictions aplenty.
Let us hope and pray that we are on the other side.
(edited to make sure the right people get credit for the end of the world)

and I think it was adjusted and they found out the date interpretation was wrong or something. So not to worry.

(17,380 posts)They just didn't bother to write dates any later than that. Notice that OUR calendars on our walls end on December 31, 2012...does that mean that the world will end on that day?
It all reminds me of the 1990's prediction that all computers would cease to function after December 31, 1999.

(19,877 posts)It's December 21st 2012. I hope I get to watch FOX news' heads explode tonight when Pres.Obama wins. Not looking forward to the onslaught of racism from the RW on the internet though. It will reach critical mass.

(11,795 posts)The Mayans who made the calendar had loooong since ceased to be a threat when the Aztecs came along. The Classic Maya's collapsed around c. 900, whereas the Aztecs became a serious threat to central Mexico in the 14th century.

(2,952 posts)out to Dr. Milind K. Ambe's Facebook page & ask how his SuperPac ad blitz went for him. They have played it ad nauseam the last few weeks.
If you haven't seen it, he warns how dire "Obamacare" is and the only solution is to vote Mitt Romney.

(3,891 posts)I've pointed this out before, but I'll do so again. In brief. Gun sales have skyrocketed since President Obama was elected. We've taken no action to limit access to very dangerous assault weapons, and millions have been sold since 2008. In 2010, the Tea Baggers were satisfied with minor electoral gains by using fear and racism to achieve the ends of the corporate interests behind them. In the four years that President Obama has held office, he has been stymied at every turn by the Rethugs obstructionist policies.
It is because of this blatant racism that I am not as confident of a huge Obama win tonight.
We won't take the House back, I wish that were not the case, but I fear it is. Which means that the Rethugs will be able to continue their obstruction at a minimum. However, with the demonstrated tendency to escalate things, the chances that they will be satisfied just obstructing is pretty low. There is a lot of hate, and anger in the Tea baggers. I'm concerned that if they lose, they may become more violent, in keeping with the delusional image that they are dedicated patriots. Millions of assault rifles have been sold, and hundreds of millions of rounds of ammunition. That could cause a great deal of damage, and harm.
It's too late now to look back and say we should have done, the best we can do now is watch them carefully, because some of them will certainly become violent when President Obama wins. I can see them all now mis-quoting Thomas Jefferson about the tree of Liberty. If I prayed, it would be that I am wrong. But I feel that I may be all too correct in my concerns.

(3,891 posts)The Washington Sniper was a right wing lunatic. The Oklahoma Bombing? The Atlanta Olympic Park Bombing. Bombings of how many abortion clinics? The targeted assassinations of how many people associated with Abortion Clinics? How many militia groups that have been broken up in the nick of time by the FBI? The list goes on and on and on. These people are not all talk. They are dangerous. If you are under the delusion that you single handedly can manage them. You are sadly mistaken.
Six Police officers have been murdered by Soverign Citizens in the last decade. Those were six, trained, experienced, and equipped people.
I wonder if the families of the slain feel that the Right Wing Extremists are all talk? It is said that only a fool ignores a threat. Law Enforcement and the FBI advise people to take all threats seriously. Perhaps they're mistaken. I don't suppose you could advise them to ignore Terrorist threats as "They're all talk."
Don't cry for help when fifty of those lunatics are busy erecting a cross for burning on your front lawn. Just shout out your window that you know they're all talk. But first, look after your family, buy some life insurance.
