A Legend Is Born: Florida Woman Breaks Leg Outside Polling Location, Yet Still Votes

Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner told reporters this morning of a woman in Escambia County, Florida who would not be denied her opportunity to vote.

Evidently, she broke her leg in the parking lot outside her polling precinct, but was carried into the polls by her husband to vote -- before going to the hospital for treatment.

"We're grateful for her interest and passion to vote," said Detzner.

Please keep this woman in mind before you complain about having waiting in line to vote today.

But if she was up and moving around, the labor pain may have been manageable. Broken bone pain? That's pretty awful.

Personally, as bad as labor can be, my labor didn't bring me to tears the way my broken bones did.

Another concern: with her water broken, she should be checked to be sure the umbilical cord wasn't prolapsed, which could endanger the baby.

this is a Red County.. So, I say however she voted.. this Determination needs to be Honored on both Sides of the Election.

Here's some Determination in Virginia..

break her leg in a parking lot? I am so curious about that. The bones in the legs are not exactly delicate

Anyway, kudos to her. It must have been painful

...is a good bet. The leg and hip bones can become extremely delicate and can break under normal walking loads. Or, she could have tripped and fallen, or stepped into a deep pothole, or walked into a car bumper, etc...
