Why do republicans make jokes that dems don't have jobs?

I have seen it soo much this election. From, Oh Obama has a ton a people at his rally's because his supporters don't have jobs and can go to this lovely gem on my fb newsfeed this morning":

If I have to see one more post about democrats all being on welfare and having no jobs I'm going to clothesline someone. Where do people get this from? One guy on my newsfeed is saying all conservatives should not go to work today so all us democrats won't get any welfare?

which wasn't even about how many people had jobs, but how many people pay income tax. But they don't care.

and therefore do not understand why anyone would vote for something that doesn't directly benefit themselves. I saw someone say this day before yesterday, and I got the distinct feeling he truly thought Democrats were all coming in to vote for the Democrat who would enable them to remain on welfare.... which is not very well reasoned anyway and would fall apart if anyone bothered to look into the assumption.

They're own success and anyone down on their luck shouldn't blame luck at all. The downtrodden simply need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and work harder. Any failure to succeed by that approach shows a lack of decency morality, and character..

She is a senior in HS and has a job. She voted for the first time yesterday. She has been yelling at her computer a lot. She tells me of her friends on FB saying the same thing. She really is annoyed because she said most of her friends who were supporting the "other guy" do not have jobs!

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck & Fox Noise all create a negative narrative about Democrats and the Democratic party. It was like someone on Morning Joe said, the Republics can't just be happy with defeating Democrats anymore, they must demonize them now. So, the echo machine creates these negative narratives to demonize the Democratic party and her members and the listeners just spew what they hear onto the world. The things they spew don't have to be true, or logical, but they must make the Democratic party seem as something "other."
