... the GOP will just nominate people who LOOK diverse, but are really just the same old racists hidden inside darker skin.

It is going to be very difficult for them to climb out. They can still win elections like they did in 2010 , but those wins will be less frequent and less substantial. Changing course would kill their support in their radicalized base, and in many states they turned the party of to their well funded teabaggers, so there is little chance of a change anyway. They are all in on being the white power party.
