Wed Nov 7, 2012, 08:43 AM
Nov 2012
This is the last time I will be voting in a national election. I am in my 60's and have concluded that, if this is the kind of governing Americans want, they should have it...and all its consequences.

Sour grapes you say? Perhaps. But after four years of the most abysmally failed government with consistently high unemployment, 16 trillion dollars in national debt, downgrading of our bonds and monetary system with printing of dollars by the Fed, attacks against freedom of religion, a loss of American leadership in the world, class warfare, homosexuality embedded in our fabric, our nuclear family deconstructed by government policies, gun running to Mexico and lies about it before Congressional hearings, refusal to protect Americans serving in our embassies across the globe, an energy policy that has tripled the price of gasoline at the pump, a Justice Dept that treats people not according to an equal application of the law but according to politics, a politicized press that is derelict in adequately informing the people about its government, attacks against free markets and capitalism, and on and on and on...

If given all this, the American electorate is either too blind to see or thinks that this exemplifies good government, then have at it. Just count me out.

But, some day perhaps people will wake up. My guess is that it will be too late and things most cherished - civic values long held dear - will be gone forever.

7. Karl Rove poking his mouth out over Fox News projecting Obama the winner...
Wed Nov 7, 2012, 08:51 AM
Nov 2012

“All I’m saying is, look, we’ve had one instance where something was prematurely called,” Rove said, alluding to the 2000 election in which media outlets declared Al Gore the winner in Florida, apparently making him president. After weeks of delay and a protracted recount, the state went to George W. Bush, who was advised by the self-same Rove.

Rove said his objection was based not on politics but on a close study of Ohio and information from insiders who said that uncounted votes from rural counties still gave Romney a chance at victory. He claimed his sources said that urban Cincinnati votes had been tallied but that the suburban exurbs and rural areas could still tilt to the Republican.

I studied the voting map of Ohio all night. No way was there enough rural votes at that time to counter what Cleveland had left to show, no way. At that time, when Rove was having his porky pig problem with "that is all folks," it was 49-49 with Prez ahead on the vote 60,000. It finished 51-48. So he was dead wrong, and it was obvious at that time.

In fact, I think the media was late calling the state.

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/11/07/five-ways-mainstream-media-tipped-scales-in-favor-obama/

Similarly, when the left-wing Mother Jones magazine in September put out a secretly-recorded video of Romney talking to donors about the 47% of Americans who don’t pay income taxes, the networks hyped it like a sensational sex scandal. Over three days, the broadcast network morning and evening shows churned out 42 stories on the tape, nearly 90 minutes of coverage. The tone was hyperbolic; ABC’s "Good Morning America" called it a “bombshell rocking the Mitt Romney campaign,” while ABC "World News" anchor Diane Sawyer declared it a “political earthquake.”

For instance, while Obama did say the words "you didn't build that", what Romney claimed was the context of that statement was a lie. You cannot have listened to any part of that Obama speech beyond the one surgically-extracted sentence and believe Romney's characterization of it without revoking one's status as a native English speaker. You'd have to be relying on a machine translation, machines named Fox, Rush, etc.

I will be busy, but will be better afterwards than I am now. About to get on the system and ride it like everyone else!!!!

Way to go Ohio. Screwed the whole nation. SHIT! Sorry, this election has exacerbated my tourettes. Now what? Might as well stop worrying about the national debt, we will never get out of that mess. And I try to find a silver lining in everything. Guess in this disappointment I will just be thankful I already have a job. Sorry if you're unemployed, not much hope now. Us and Them...

Well it appears that the magic underwear millionaire was defeated last night, and am I gloating about it? YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT I AM:

When YOUR candidate stood before the people of this country and LIED CONTINUOUSLY, YOU supported him. We defeated him.
When YOUR candidate changed positions on issue after issue to say anything to get elected, YOU supported him. We defeated him.
When these slimy Tea-bagging assholes denigrated OUR President at every turn, YOU supported them. We defeated them.
When these low-life billionaire fascists attempted to buy this election, YOU saw "nothing wrong with that", and YOU supported them. We defeated them.
When the fascists on the Supreme Court passed Citizens United, (one of the single most damaging pieces of legislation to ever threaten American Democracy), YOU sat back and let it happen. All the while supporting the assholes that were eroding the very foundation of our constitution. We defeated them.
When brain-dead, pant-loads like Ted Nugent, and Donald Trump made their veiled threats of armed revolution, YOU cheered them. We will DAMN SURE defeat them. The American people spoke out against the damage YOU asshole conservatives have inflicted on this country for decades now. We defeated YOUR smarmy, corpora-fascist, arrogant, plutocrat, thief of a candidate last night, and I for one will be glad to remind YOU of that. Constantly. FOUR MORE YEARS FUCKERS!!!
