This is the last time I will be voting in a national election. I am in my 60's and have concluded that, if this is the kind of governing Americans want, they should have it...and all its consequences.

Sour grapes you say? Perhaps. But after four years of the most abysmally failed government with consistently high unemployment, 16 trillion dollars in national debt, downgrading of our bonds and monetary system with printing of dollars by the Fed, attacks against freedom of religion, a loss of American leadership in the world, class warfare, homosexuality embedded in our fabric, our nuclear family deconstructed by government policies, gun running to Mexico and lies about it before Congressional hearings, refusal to protect Americans serving in our embassies across the globe, an energy policy that has tripled the price of gasoline at the pump, a Justice Dept that treats people not according to an equal application of the law but according to politics, a politicized press that is derelict in adequately informing the people about its government, attacks against free markets and capitalism, and on and on and on...

If given all this, the American electorate is either too blind to see or thinks that this exemplifies good government, then have at it. Just count me out.

But, some day perhaps people will wake up. My guess is that it will be too late and things most cherished - civic values long held dear - will be gone forever.

Seriously, it's like these teabagging birther nutjobs were asleep during both of Bush's terms and think the rest of us were, too.

Last night, I realized that my brother is one of those freeper-type nutbags. I had been hoping that his antics were just him trying to stir up shit. But, last night, he went into full melt-down mode. It was sad to watch. I blame the wingnut he married last year.

Then again, I have been working on him for a while now.

Too much influence from his idiot wife, her family, and their nutbag friends. The real sad thing is that his 23-year-old kid has become even more brain-washed.

I studied the voting map of Ohio all night. No way was there enough rural votes at that time to counter what Cleveland had left to show, no way. At that time, when Rove was having his porky pig problem with "that is all folks," it was 49-49 with Prez ahead on the vote 60,000. It finished 51-48. So he was dead wrong, and it was obvious at that time.

In fact, I think the media was late calling the state.

For instance, while Obama did say the words "you didn't build that", what Romney claimed was the context of that statement was a lie. You cannot have listened to any part of that Obama speech beyond the one surgically-extracted sentence and believe Romney's characterization of it without revoking one's status as a native English speaker. You'd have to be relying on a machine translation, machines named Fox, Rush, etc.

When YOUR candidate changed positions on issue after issue to say anything to get elected, YOU supported him. We defeated him.

When these low-life billionaire fascists attempted to buy this election, YOU saw "nothing wrong with that", and YOU supported them. We defeated them.
When the fascists on the Supreme Court passed Citizens United, (one of the single most damaging pieces of legislation to ever threaten American Democracy), YOU sat back and let it happen. All the while supporting the assholes that were eroding the very foundation of our constitution. We defeated them.
When brain-dead, pant-loads like Ted Nugent, and Donald Trump made their veiled threats of armed revolution, YOU cheered them. We will DAMN SURE defeat them.
