You go, awesome neighbor to the north! I'm disappointed in my adopted state of Oregon for not legalizing pot, but maybe in a few years ...

it is not a huge metropolitan area on par with Seattle, so while we + Eugene + some parts of the coast & Bend can usually outvote the rest of the state, it doesn't always work.

It didn't even make the ballot until July, well after Colorado and Washington had qualified.

It never polled well enough to attract big-money funders.

It was led by Paul Stanford, a controversial figure in the pot community.

And I believe all of the congressional seats went red as well.

I hope more attention is paid here in two years; because they ran on obstruction.

Seems I read it was pretty close. Anyway, they're going to try it again. I saw that proponents thought the "if you live more than 5 miles from a dispensary, you can grow 5 plants at home", is what did them in. They'll modify or remove that and they think it will pass next time.

I didn't know about the 5 mile component. I only saw the 'for' commercials on TV. I didn't catch any 'against', but I don't watch much TV.

The big ballot issue for me was #1. As a civil engineer; I'm always for road construction spending. Unfortunately, as an environmentalist, it isn't what I'd prefer we expend the resources on. However, I've got to put food on my family.

After all we gained last night, everything we've won, I'm still pouting that Michelle Bachmann wasn't tossed out on her nutbag ass. I just don't know how to be happy I guess.
