Thank you, GOP

The truth is, we would have had a legitimate enthusiasm gap if you had not stepped in to help.

Your war on women's reproductive issues and equal pay for equal work not only produced a double-digit win for the President among female voters, it handed us Senate wins in MO and IN.

Your foul personal treatment of Michelle and Barack Obama combined with voter suppression efforts around the country re-mobilized blacks, many of whom were willing to endure almost any hardship and/or inconvenience to cast a vote for the President and against you.

Your unrestrained racism paid further dividends for the blue team with the Latino vote.

Your homophobia cost you dearly with the youth vote, and helped keep enthusiasm high for Obama in the LGBT community.

And there's more. "Repeal Obamacare" was a total dud with most voters; one exit poll showed 59 percent of voters opposed to repeal, meaning some of your own constituents actually like the Affordable Care Act; not a great sign for you. Your Randian insistence on the primacy of the free market cost you Ohio. And your constant denigration of government and agencies such as FEMA reminded many voters one week prior to the election that you were a much riskier bet than the skinny black guy with the funny name.

You will ponder the results of the 2012 election and wonder what adjustments you should make for the future. My advice is simple: Don't change a thing.
