Just when I was disgusted enough with the RW

I saw this on, of all things, a sports message board. Here it is and my response. I tried to be polite, but it was very difficult.

Post:

<I am buying gold and looking at relocating to Canada for the next four years. It's only going to get worse. Women voters decided the election....I guess getting access to birth control and abortions was more important to them than jobs or the economy. How naive.>

Response:

Yeah, that right to control your own destiny, be it business or personal, is pretty absurd. But wait....isn't that a huge part of what one party is in favor of? Freedom without government interference? I suppose having the government force women to be subject to demeaning medical exams before being allowed LEGAL access to abortion doesn't fall into that "freedom" category. Or being forced to carry a child conceived by rape. Or worse, bearing a child that might be her brother, cousin, grandchild because of incest?? REALLY?

DaM WIMIN and their demands!!! Access to affordable medical care, contraceptions, safe abortions! Jeez, what else will they demand????? Equal pay??

New at this "my Queen trumps your Jack" thing. How'd I do?

I wish I had put something in there about the women who did elect abortion so they weren't forced to be on Welfare or food stamps in order to survive day to day. But their attention span may not be that long.

Oh, and no legal limit on abortion BTW. You want one, you get one. Paid for by socialized medicine. Of course the crazy rwnuts kill MD's who provide abortion up there as well.

They cover child care and universal preschool and universal health care. Plus there are taxes for historical preservation and caring for elderly.

The country with low taxes, small government run by the religious right is Pakistan. That is where they need to go.

I think this missionary business is really, quietly, intended to give the young men a chance to go sow wild oats before settling down with one (or a hidden two or three) woman and start making babies for the Cause (Mormonism growth). Just like the Amish, only they HAVE to return to the LDS church.

Is very civilized. In fact, we pretty much shut down any political discussions. Try to keep it focused on baseball. But if you tune into the Phillies MLB board, it's a different story.

EDIT: I'm a Nats fan. Our board is pretty fun. No political stuff. And a great deal of respect for one another.

Once he's a bit more civilized and willing to listen to reason, they'll let him live in the old Fort so he can re-enact the days before toilet paper. It's supposedly quite therapeutic for hard core conservatives transitioning from American Democracy to Canadian Socialism.

But let him relocate to Canada if he likes; even with the vile Harper as PM, it's still far more 'socialized' than the US. And they have women's rights there too!

If he wants to move somewhere where women's rights are treated as irrelevant, might I suggest Iran or Saudi Arabia?

Is it so hard for them to think this way? What good is having a job if you are paid hourly, have no sick time and are staying home with 5 or 6 children as they alternately become sick? Or, in the case of an unplanned pregnancy, had to lose hours/$$$ for doctor's appointments and an unpaid maternity leave? And if that pregnancy were the result of rape, you'd be losing money b/c you were a victim of a crime.

Stupid stupid people.
