What a great time to be (politically) alive!

In the last decade or so we have witnessed...

The first person of color elected to the office of the Presidency. Twice.
9 states + DC recognize the right of ALL Americans to marry.
The first ALL FEMALE congressional delegation. (yay NH!)
The beginning of decriminalized marijuana use.
The first Latina Supreme Court Justice (edited to add)
AND
The undeniable demise of the republican party!

Of course there are things I'm missing. Please feel free to add.

Democrats... We fucking RULE!

I just dont see how republicans can win again. Young voters turned out MORE yesterday than in 2008! I imagine all those kids who werent old enough to vote the first time. Their voices have been heard and heard loudly!

to them, by HELPING them, not exploiting them to our own ends. The strong ones have a good nose for exploitation and, the Republican bane, HYPOCRISY, so they alienate themselves from those whom they suspect of trying to use them.

already jaded by the system. Not voting. And I'm afraid I completely failed in my attempts to get them involved. Its difficult. A lot of "none of it matters anyway" "the system is corrupt" "when someone loses by one vote let me know". Sigh.

I feel like we *should* relinquish some control. We need these kids for the future as much as they'll need us. I hope we can find the correct way to include them.

Just scanned the article quick and saw the word "libertarian" quite often. It instantly reminded me of conversations with them that involved "end the fed" etc. I look forward to reading this.

points of this particular article is that Gray is a corporate SUPER-attorney, specializing in out of court settlements (!!! THINK of the kinds of connections and the implications of same that it takes to make THAT work), so the whole states'-rights thing is really just an open door to the types of fascism that comes from differences in drug laws and things like 3-strikes-&-you're-out sentencing guidelines and the meteoric rise of PRIVATIZED prisons.

Pairing all of that with a trend toward new-agey spiritualism, something I've seen going on around here, along with its FREQUENT references to fire, is a scarey mix, if you ask me.
