Saw this on FB - An old college buddy requested comments about

an article his brother had posted from huffpo titled: America has spoken, Christians need to listen

here are the responses:

Bill Kirkland I'm praying for another Great Awakening. What Ms. Timbol fails to mention is that political correctness has already invaded the pulpits of America, openly gay and lesbian ministers are being trained in once prominent and respected seminaries, and pastors of mainstream religions are marrying same sex couples. Evidently Ms. Timbol has a different version of the Bibles that I have studied. I've listened to their plights, and I've read the word of God. God wants us to love the person but hate the sin. He also instructs us that there is a process to deal with habitual sin in the Bible that is rarely practiced in our politically correct churches. If we "listen" to Ms. Timbol and fall for those tactics ,our churches will continue to fall prey. Instead of listening, I think its time that Christians took a stand. Its time that we turn over the tables in the temple and say enough is enough.

Jenn Allen Byrne Christians need to listen to the truth of the bible and the Church, and not be swayed by popular culture. The truth is the truth and does not change. This belief that conservatives don't believe in faith, love, and equal treatment is offensive. And I will never understand Christians who can vote for a candidate who has signed bills to allow partial-birth abortion. I want equal treatment for the purely innocent!

minister, your seminary is no longer respected or prominent? That's certainly 'Christian' and accepting, isn't it?

Maybe they could get off their high horses and start worrying about feeding the hungry, caring for the poor, and all of those other inconvenient things that are in the Bible too.
