Parents Want School to Teach Archaic "Gay Related Immune Deficiency"

A number of religious conservative parents — both Christian and Jewish — in the infamous Anoka-Hennepin School District north of Minneapolis, have demanded that school officials purge mention of homosexuality and add instructional information about so-called ex-gay and ex-trans therapies and "GRID" (Gay Related Immune Deficiency, an archaic term that was given to AIDS but hasn't been used by the medical establishment since 1984).

According to Andy Birkey, at the Twin Cities Daily Planet, the school's “neutrality policy” (which is basically a "don't ask, don't tell" policy for the area's public schools, in which LGBT issues are not to be discussed) is under attack by students who say it creates a hostile learning environment. But the Parents Action League, who released a resolution in support of anti-LGBT policies last week, want the policy to remain in place. In addition they called for the addition of anti-gay information, such as the "success" of "ex-homosexual therapy."

but then rename AIDS to a term that no longer exists that specifically mentions homosexuality, and then add ex-gay therapy to their curriculum... in the name of neutrality?

and ended up with a certain amount of PTSD from it.

These parents need to be slapped down HARD by the medical community. It's a virus. It's a heterosexual disease in other parts of the world. It's a heterosexual disease here, it just hit gay men and IV drug users first. One of the fastest growing groups with new infections are women over 55, thanks to Viagra and the feeling that barrier birth control methods aren't necessary.

The ignorance they want pushed in their schools could very well kill their children.

Bachmann is from that country. I call it a country because it's far removed from my world.

I mean, if "God" was going to create a magical virus to kill gay people, he didn't do too good of a job. After all, lesbians are not as large of the population of individuals infected with the virus. This was also true during the early outbreak.

Perhaps gay men are just hated more by "God," eh?

Yanno, just to be fair...

Somehow I think there are far more gays that were raised to be straight until they found themselve than there are straights that were raised to be gay until they found themselves.

Bachmann's district, right? Of course.
