I think MLK would have done a lot more for the US if he had been allowed to live. The civil rights movement is basically gone, fortunately OWS is filling a much needed gap after such a long hiatus of people thinking about the oppression that exists in this country. I just don't think for example the lack of movements from Reagan's presidency onward would have happened. Not that their haven't been some protests and activity going on, I have been to marches and protests, but we (my generation born in the early to late sixties) seems to have been hibernating or something. I don't think that would have happened if MLK was still alive.
