COLUMBUS, Ohio - An election-related Facebook post by a Columbus City School teacher led to an investigation after parents complained.
The Linden McKinley High School teacher posted, "Congrats to those dependent on government, homosexuals, potheads, JAY-Z fans, non Christians, non taxpayers, illegals, communists, Muslims, planned murder clinics, enemies of America, Satan You WON!" on his personal Facebook page.
10TV is not naming the teacher because he was not been reprimanded.
Freedom of speech gives everyone the right to communicate opinions and ideas, but one mother said that she could not understand why a teacher would allegedly choose to say things about the students and parents who trust him.

(13,468 posts)It makes me nervous to think that someone should have to vanilla their self expression on social media because they are a teacher. If it becomes socially acceptable to demand this teacher conform then a liberal leaning teacher in the south will need to turn off their computer and sew their mouth shut.

(38 posts)He should private his account. I know at my job, if we friend a co-worker after being hired or add ABC as my job, then I can no longer claim separation of my private life from my job at least on FB.

(9,992 posts)And I agree. If the guy isn't smart enough to make his account private or, WORSE, he's friended students, then he can't complain when he gets called on his ignorant rants.

The word is "PUBLIC." Only the Right-Wing uses the term "GOVERNMENT."
