School Shootings

School shootings,

They ban books, to protect the children, then hire a crime scene cleaner to wash the children’s blood off the walls and the grout of the tile. They ban men in dresses reading a book to children, but refuse to pass a law that stops nut jobs… or anybody, from owning a weapon of war. Or even registering it. Like a magician, they want you to watch the left hand with the shiny ring while the right hand shovels money from the NRA into their pockets

We bitch, we cry, we moan. We wring our hands and we scream. Each and every time, after a school shooting.

One definition of insanity is continuing the same action, over and over while expecting a different result. Over and over, year after year.

A wise friend of mine told me that the people in the USA are afraid of the government, but in France the government is afraid of the people. Garbage piles up in Paris because their leader wants to make retirement age 64. When it was pushed from 65 to 67 in the USA, I don't remember thousands protesting.

Riots in Israel drew hundreds of thousands to stop judicial misappropriation. Night after night. Their wanna-be dictator relented, afraid they were on the brink of civil war.... and he would be overthrown.

So when societies next malcontent decides to die from suicide by cop and take a classroom of kids with him what are you going to do? Yes, you? Do you want this to stop? No really ? Gonna bitch, cry, moan, wring hand and scream ? Again ?

So how’s that working for you ?

Until you are willing to be an active, participating member of our society, like the French or Israeli’s, nothing will change. Abso-f**king-lutey nothing.

Join an anti gun group. Call your friends. The PTA. Talk to your co-workers, your family, your neighbors. Open up your electronic contact book and email and call everyone you know.

Paint the signs, make them witty and watch the spelling. Pick out the clothes you’re going to wear (comfy shoes!). Figure out the carpool and who’s going to drive. Don’t forget snacks and water. Set the time and set the place.

Place: The office of your US Senator or US Congressman. There are only a total of 535 people representing 330 million of us and they are the only ones who can change things. The only ones…

Time: 6pm, after the next mass school shooting that erases 5 precious souls. For this one, lets not argue about math, so if Trigger Happy, makes it 5, let's call it a go, OK ?

Get hopping, you know you won’t have long to wait…

Sadly, it doesn't seem to matter what actions we take, we still get the same results Walleye Mar 2023 #1

The only thing that can change our guns laws is massive peaceful protest, on the scale that have scene in Israel and France.

It's something we haven't tried here, so I believe it would be a different action

Big shots don't sweat the small stuff.

6 people standing in the street protesting won't get results.

1% of our population, 3.3 million might be a good start.

Pep talk ? Maybe.

Possible solution. Maybe.

A call (or scream) to try something different that might work. Yeah.

It's not just the politicians. The real underlying problem is that the right wing echo chamber is too powerful, and it's increasing in numbers. It's Fox News, it's Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity. It's Ben Shapiro. It's the Daily Wire, it's TPUSA. It's the Federalist Society. It's the John Birch Society. It's the Heritage Foundation. It's Sinclair Broadcasting. It's Mike Lindell and Steve Bannon. It's Infowars. I could go on and on.

Yes, getting out the vote is a good idea. But as long as people keep watching and listening to this shit, it's going to further divide the populace and nothing will get done. As I said yesterday, we have a handful of streams with which to get our message out there. The right wing has thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands.

The right wing echo chamber rots people's brains and turns them into mush because there's no one to challenge their ideas or claims. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Ron DeSantis are perfect example of what happens when watching too much Fox News rots your brain. Rupert Murdoch does not want a well informed populace capable of critical thinking. He wants people kept intentionally stupid and in the dark on hot button issues, while just being functional enough to push the buttons to make profit for our corporate overlords. This is the real underlying fundamental problem in the US that we need to address.
