GOP women highlighted in splashy soiree

Almost 200 people showed up for “Celebrating Women Leaders,” an event hosted by House Majority Leader Amy Stephens honoring the female Republican candidates running for the state Legislature.

The speaker was Paula Broadwell, author of “All In: The Education of General David Petraeus.”

The event Tuesday at Mile High Station featured a variety of folks, including lobbyists and lawmakers. A group of Republican women from Douglas County arrived in a party bus.

Among those praising the get-together was lobbyist Mike Beasley.

“I think this is one of the largest events I’ve been to,” he said. “The message it sends to voters is that women are a big part of the Republican Party.”

It occurs to me

She could be the Libya source that Bob Woodward referred to the other day. He said the Romney campaign gave him the source. If so, Romney and the Republican Party are in deep shit for undermining national security in order to win an election.
