Dittoheads come in all shapes and sizes

I was talking to someone I have known for about a year - she is mid 60s always seems to be down on her look, but she is retired military and so has a pension and healthcare covered. And she seems to be at the VA a couple of times a month for her health care.

We started talking about pan-handlers and I said after a couple of bad experiences (I was sworn and spat at for not giving enough )I now refuse to give to them and donate to different charities instead. She started saying how all these people should get jobs and get off the streets - I said well to be fair you don't know their stories and for some it is mental illness that has them out there and they don't have access to even basic healthcare. She pauses and then changes the subject to the military and how they are cutting back hiring - "I said if they stopped spending so much on weaponry that is not wanted they could use that money for hiring/training in other industries" she then comes out with "Well Rush says.............." I immediately thought WTF - "stop right there - I can not stand Rush and his lies and I will not discuss whatever he says". Thankfully she did have the good sense to know I meant it.
