Kobach suggests Kansans who aren't right wingers should leave the state

<skip>

More broadly, Kobach says Kansans who disagree with the state’s tilt are free to leave.

“Americans can vote with their feet,” he said, “and choose a state that reflects their values and the way of life they’d like to enjoy.

“If a person wants to live in a San Francisco lifestyle, they can go there. If they want to live a Kansas lifestyle, they can come here.”

Can Kansans start a massive recall effort to get every single one of these stupid people ousted and replaced with a progressive Democrat?

Brownback should go as well.

Kansas heads my list of places I don't want to live in anyway. Texas and Oklahoma are right on its heels.

in both states and I have family in both. Family that are fiscal conservatives, though socially moderate. I don't talk politics with them--in fact, since 2000, I don't speak with them much at all. Partly because of politics, partly because of life and its constant demands. But, as much as I'd like to blame them for not doing enough to fight back this ignorant onslaught, I know it was beyond their control--as it has been yours. Colorado's moderation has a tremendous debt to our Latino population, the impact of our far more liberal youth and increasingly well educated population of our cities. That is why there is such intense fear among the RW that immigration may shake up their little comfortable stranglehold.

All, I can say is I know the kind of elderly farmers and other rural residents who maintain the RW monopoloy--and their mindset. I grew up with it. Part of their vote is traditional. I think that--perhaps unlike the South-- that racism is less a factor than fear of change. A large part is low information--which is not likely to change on the short term. Demographic changes are the only hope.

My best to those who remain and fight the good fight.

Yeah, Kris, that's exactly what I'm doing! Just Friday I sent my application packet off to an opening in...you guessed it! Northern California!

But while you were working in Missouri and touting Kansas values, perhaps you didn't notice the dismal state of the economy, created by Republicans, and the resultant bleak job prospects. Makes it tougher to "vote with our feet."

Oh, and here's this tidbit:

2004 election

In the 2004 election cycle, Kobach was the Republican nominee for Congress in the 3rd District, besting primary opponents Adam Taff and Patricia Lightner (Taff had previously lost the 2002 election for the same office to Dennis Moore,[18] and Lightner was a six-year veteran state legislator).[18]

He lost to incumbent Dennis Moore, 55%–43%. The victory was the largest of Moore's congressional campaigns.

Dennis Moore, Democrat, would still be kicking Repuke ass (and that includes you, Kris) if health concerns hadn't forced his retirement.

It used to have some great moderate Republican Senators and Governors before the crazies took over -James Pearson, Nancy Landon Kassebaum and so on. I wish the moderate Republicans would come back

Encouraging a mass migration of farm labor to California. Sounds like a tacit recognition of global warming.

Good jobs--that is, jobs that pay enough to live on and have benes--are very hard to find.

People might want to stay in an area where their relatives are, instead of picking up and moving off to where they don't know a living soul.

I'm sick of people saying this, just move. As if it were so easy. Shows the speaker is an idiot.
