Fareed said that, in exchange for ending the Bush-era tax cuts, there should be a supermajority requirement to raise federal taxes.
That's right, Fareed and the rich want to do unto the country as the supermajority has done unto California. He wants permanent austerity in exchange for slightly higher taxes on the 1%-a requirement that would make elections meaningless, since there could be no differences that matter between Democrats and Republicans if small government was made permanent.
A Congressional supermajority requirement on spending means that the people who OWN the country will always govern it, as the 18th Century Federalists demanded.

Pension amendment to Illinois Constitution fails
ASSOCIATED PRESS November 7, 2012 8:38AM
Illinois voters have rejected a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would have made it more difficult to expand public employee retirement benefits.
...
With lawmakers stalemated on how to fix a severely underfunded pension system, the amendment would have required a three-fifths vote of the Legislature instead of a simple majority to increase pension benefits for public employees.
