It's one thing for a Democratic presidential candidate to dominate a Democratic city like Philadelphia, but check out this head-spinning figure: In 59 voting divisions in the city, Mitt Romney received not one vote. Zero. Zilch.
These are the kind of numbers that send Republicans into paroxysms of voter-fraud angst, but such results may not be so startling after all.
"We have always had these dense urban corridors that are extremely Democratic," said Jonathan Rodden, a political science professor at Stanford University. "It's kind of an urban fact, and you are looking at the extreme end of it in Philadelphia."

(10,291 posts)this is not that big of a surprise.
It's kinda like when we dicussed the FACT that President Obama carried 8 out of the 10 wealthiest districts? Well cali decided because she did some 'search and decided that because...get this....ONE county in Connecticut may have had more middle class people there....ONE, mind you, that the entire list is a MYTH. <<<---- cali's words.
And, of course, the ever present "R S T L N E" of the bullying is that you are stupid or lack insight if you don't agree with her desperate, breathless tripe.

(7,724 posts)I'm sure these were black wards, but it's still hard to believe, not one vote? I know it's possible, but is it believable? Maybe these kinds of stories will change Republican's minds about having standard voting nationwide.

(11,816 posts)There was an article earlier this week in the Philadelphia Inquirer where they interviewed a Republican committeeperson from a almost-all-Dem precinct.
He said there was only ONE Romney vote, which he found strange because there were TWO Republican committeepeople (he wasn't implying fraud - he was implying that even his co-committeeman voted Obama)
