Throughout the campaign, one oft repeated meme was:
"Who do you want in the White House? A proven, successful millionaire CEO
who understands the economy...or a comunity organizer?"
This was followed by derisive laughter and hoots...
But who's laughing now?
Which of these two men really made a difference, really developed jobs?
Just look at the track record for the campaign effort:
The Obama Campaign established 755 field offices throughout the country,
employing thousands of volunteers..
Volunteers, you say? That's not a job.
Oh.. in a way it is; our Greatest Teacher put these people into 'hands on'
situations, 'on the job' training. In essence, working the campaign was
a 'gratis internship,' where instead of being paid in $$$, these workers
were paid with the greatest compensation: working for victory of the people,
working for history.
You can't pay for that kind of training, experience and people skills, invaluable.
Put that on your resume! Besides, it instilled in the workers the sense of
being able to work from the bottom up; work with people, inspire people.
make contacts... organize!
So... Obama is too..Professorial? Yea but so what ?
What did he teach?
He went public and spoke about race.
He went in there and unveiled the elephant under the carpet in
our collective living room. He put it out there.
Sure are a lot of racists spewing venom.. but he outed them.
But but but....Mitt? Crickets . Mitt has no intestinal fortitude.
The president spoke about religion. There were too many doubts and questions
(notably stupid ones...) but he put it out there.
He knows his stuff...
Mitt? Nothing and being couragous about his faith might have helped him.
But frankly, I don't think MItt has any faith at all: he just does what he must.
And that brings us to World affairs.
The president knows his stuff; Mitt thinks there's still a Soviet Union.
Oh, and Civil rights? The Right Wing proclaims we don't need that anymore,
But the president took that issue on too: it's obvious we still have
mountains to climb.
I'll take the professorial community organizer over the cold fish CEO with the snotty wife.
They were shell- shocked that they lost? Grow up.
Buh bye mitt.
The rest of us are ready for class, in every sense of the word.
Stay tuned fellow students, the learning and wisdom is due for another term!

(20,885 posts)...an election over a "businessman." That's in quotes because Romney didn't actually conceive and create businesses -- he dismantled and gutted them.
My friend had little notion that community organizers motivate and actualize people, who do the voting.
