This year Claire McCaskill helped get Todd Akin chosen as her opponent and she crushed the teabagger.
Since the tea party controls the GOP primary process, pro-Democratic Super Pacs should help more of these bat-shit crazy teabaggers win their primaries in the future.

(23,156 posts)please remember that until Akin was dumb enough to makes his rape comments, he looked like a sure thing to beat McCaskill. This is a technique that could backfire.

I'd say, keep a close eye on Kansas. They have a right-wing Governor, Sam Brownback, and essentially a right-wing state house and senate at this point.
For many years companies were happy to locate to Kansas because the education system there was strong, and they knew they could get good, educated workers.
That will probably change. The people now in control of that state don't give a flying fuck about things like good education, and just watch that state sky-dive to the bottom of the barrel.
I lived in Kansas from 1990 to 2008.

(256 posts)There's a Democrat in the White House and turn out is traditionally bad for the left in midterm elections. It could too easily backfire. 2016 all the way.
