(10,960 posts)where Obama simultaneously trails slightly among independents, suggestig that a big cohort of independents are self-identified non-moderates. Interesting.
PPP is pretty good. I suspect this pollis a pretty good snapshot.

(13,431 posts)The sample of moderates must be exceptionally small.

(13,431 posts)The poll would have to sample conservatives at almost three times the rate of liberals to overcome that difference in moderates. A quick glance of the poll's internals do not match with the final result during my quick review. Maybe there is a likely to vote algorithm applied to the findings.
I call BS on this poll for now.

(24,689 posts)Many Democrats dont like the liberal label and call themselves moderates.
SlimJimmy
(3,182 posts)that is more than two months out from the election. All this talk of landslides and the GOP's demise is counterproductive in my opinion. Let's concentrate on getting out the vote and getting out the message. If we do that, the polls will take care of themselves.
Many Democrats don't like the liberal label and call themselves moderates.
DCBob
(24,689 posts)but it is helpful to see how the electorate is thinking even at this early date and the best way to do that is with polling.
SlimJimmy
(3,182 posts)point. I mean, look at how many times the lead has changed in the GOP primary so far. And then there will be the big onslaught of attack ads against the President. I'll start looking at the polls after a few months of that to determine the true direction of the voting public.

DCBob
(24,689 posts)so they call themselves moderates.

(11,936 posts)And they go vote for whoever, a lot of times against their best interests, without even realizing it.

(31,241 posts)the teanuttery he's had to spout to get the nomination. All Obama should have to do is yell, "Roll tape, please"!

(68,867 posts)We just have to actually show up and vote!
The media will work hard at making it close, cause they like and need
those advertising dollars, so don't let this poll fool ya!.......and understand
that this may be what they want right now, at a time when it still matters little!
Romney still has to win the nomination, and choose a Veep....
and Europe still looks fragile, and so I say....
We will have to work hard for this win, no matter how it looks according to current polls!

(34,483 posts)"36% of voters have a favorable opinion of him to 28% with a negative one. His 36% favorability is better than the entire GOP field. Romney's at 35%, Santorum at 30%, Paul at 27%, Gingrich at 26%, and Perry at 21%. Colbert's popular with Democrats (47/21) and independents (43/26) but not with Republicans (18/39) despite his best efforts to run as one of their Presidential candidates."

(35,446 posts)because they want that Romney Super Pac money to buy ads on their stations, while they "tut" "tut" negative advertising.
