For all those states who want to secede from the Union, there has to be

some kind of treaty and agreement in writing before we allow it.

You will not be allowed to have air pollution industries that can affect the air we in the union breathe as we know the air moves around.

Those in the Gulf states will have to give up the right to mine any minerals from the ocean. The only thing you will be allowed to do is fish. We cannot have your ocean pollution and destruction of species spread to the oceans we control.

You will not be allowed to treat your poor like slaves, so that they won't want to stay there and move to our states. So you will have to pay a living wage, and provide access to health care and education for all.

There you are. Now you can go. Good luck with that.

- set up your own currency and negotiate exchange rates
- pay tariffs
- establish your own military and disaster relief infrastructure
- maintain your own infrastructure
- create your own power generation/distribution systems
- write your own laws and create your own law enforcement systems
- grow your own food and distribute it
- source your own water
- establish your own education system
- energy?
- negotiate your own immigration/emigration treaties.......

Why do these idiots think the european union came into existence? Because it ended centuries of continual wars....

The only way a secession could work is if they joined Mexico and you know there are all those brown people there.

Most of the states do. That's why we need to place conditions on them starting new nations so that their stupidity can't flow over into our states.

not an action by the states' respective governments. Seems these groups would have to get some kind of state approval.

I think most of the talk is just passing gas.

It won't go anywhere. I just thought I would put up some caveats to make some troll lurkers think about what it would really involve to do something like this seriously, let's say if the federal government were willing to hammer out a deal rather than start another civil war.

scared, Fox news-programmed paranoiacs who just want to get away from the black President before he hurts them.

I'd bet good money they haven't the slightest clue what it truly takes to form a separate nation. They don't have the character to handle that kind of undertaking. I'm sure they'd rather watch one of the Swamp reality shows.

They would suddenly have to figure out how to do all the things the federal government does for them that they take for granted. Remember the old farts who said that the government shouldn't touch their Medicare? That's the mentality operating here.

The are horrified, after having their brains reduced by RushFox to mush even zombies would scorn, that The Scary Negro President was thunderously re-elected. Which is their tuff shit. I, on the other hand, am waiting for my free stuff and have notified the appropriate Obama for America authorities of my pony preference:

Just a bunch of angry teabaggers, and perhaps the lunatic governor of Texas. But even Gov. Perry doesn't speak for the state of Texas.

it's not any real movement.

And as much as we'd like to pretend otherwise people say similar things when republicans win big too . . .
/the West coast should totally be it's own country! Ditch all you rednecks in flyover states. . . I've heard this sentiment many times.

Then there was the merger with Canada when we split off from Jesusland. But to tell the truth, there was a better plan to actually make it work, providing Bush didn't send the military out after us in full force and we knew that would happen. I don't ever remember a petition to do it though cause we knew it just wasn't a viable option to be taken seriously.
