Disney has long been responsible for bastardizing mythic acculturalization and assimilation to comform to its own trademarked visual and narrative styles.

The myths that Disney have acquired were reshaped to accommodate its commercial exploitation of them. They're acquired the rights to Native American, European and Latin American myths. Myths that were created from historical narratives and literary masterpieces. Modern and ancient myths.

And now they have acquired the ownership of Marvel Comics, LucasFilm and, most recently, The Holy Bible itself. Three of the most well known myth creating venues in American society.

Disney's commercial exploitation dumbs down the mythic narrative so that it's no more than a commercial product to be consumed by the lowest common denominator. A form of ethnic bleaching is used to make their myths palatable for maximum appeal by the majority population. Real complex and accurate cultural and historical aspects are replaced with stereotypical depictions, maudlin and sappy musical accompaniment and fanciful dance. Disney's own trademarked artistic aesthetic is used to alter the mythic tone to its own for maximum commercial appeal.

It creates trademarked characters that were never in the mythic narratives that it has acquired. Changes the time, meaning and impact of historical events.

It fashions its own reality in order to achieve the highest profit potential possible.

Lost in all of this cultural bleaching is any real association to the source material. Both literary and oral traditions are trashed and replaced with a caricatured framework to be consumed.

Instead of reading source works, understanding the existential points and historical complexities of the subject matter, bright colors, sounds, songs, phrasing replaces all of that. Consumers adopt the commercial visage instead, without even knowing what the original myths were all about.

If we lose access and control of our own cultural narrative, we lose the ability to define what we're all about. Not only do we become the stuff of talking animals and animated flatware, we lose sight of the history of racial, cultural and sexual identity.

When our myths are trademarked, they no longer belong to all of us, they only belong to the people who own the trademarks.
