(3,502 posts)I was home from work for two weeks after Sandy, but we got our power and cable back well before Election Day. I was able to gloat almost full time. Now that I'm back at work I even wake up in the middle of the night to gloat. It's bad, I tell you. But it feels soooo good.

(11,816 posts)Are extending the gloating/schadenfreude season this year, so that's nice, too.

(3,001 posts)School administrators, state legislators, mayors, sheriffs, etc.. The republicans are going after each and every piece of local government they can get their hands on, knowing they can get away with it due to low turnout.
Remember Obama hit the national stage 4 years before he was elected president. We have less than two to the mid terms and less than 4 to the presidential.
Stop the gloating and get to work people.

(19,841 posts)I swear I could FEEL the gloating. The whole city was joyous, breathing a collective sigh of relief.
91 percent of DC voters went for Obama.

I wanted to see him doing hard time in Leavenworth, but this might actually be a better punishment.
And yes, I'll be gloating for the rest of the year. I have a b'day in December, but I got the bestest present a month and 10 days early!!! My president, delivered with a Big Bow and a landslide.
Keep the Jimmy Choos. I got what I wanted this year!

(4 posts)Sure Obama is better than Romney but Obama has a lot of work ahead of him. The US isn't doing very good. There is a lot that has to be done before you should gloat.
I give the US 30 years before it falls to shit and there is another American revolution.
I'd have given it 15 years if Romney was elected.
I hear that same meme from the CRAP (Conservative/Reform/Alliance Party) members in Canada. As usual, they, like their rabid right wing buddies in the U.S., are wrong.

(718 posts)by my 65 year old "born-again" sister to "stay off Facebook". Over the course of the last week, I have posted several comments and photo's that express how happy I am that Obama won re-election. Some of those postings have stirred the pot and poked the sleeping giant of outright Obama hatred in my family. I am now receiving threats that I will suffer some sort of retaliation if I don't quit posting my pro-Obama viewpoint. I have had to unfriend one person and block another. Another member has also unfriended me. I'm truly embarrassed and ashamed that these low-information rednecks are members of my immediate family.
