President Obama is using a Cold War-era mind-control technique known as "Delphi" to coerce Americans into accepting his plan for a United Nations-run communist dictatorship in which suburbanites will be forcibly relocated to cities. That's according to a four-hour briefing delivered to Republican state senators at the Georgia state Capitol last month.
On October 11th at a closed-door meeting of the Republican caucus convened by the body's majority leader, Chip Rogers, a tea party activist told Republican lawmakers that Obama was mounting this most diabolical conspiracy. The eventcaptured on tape by a member of the Athens-based watchdog Better Georgia (who was removed from the room after 52 minutes)had been billed as an information session on Agenda 21, a non-binding UN agreement that commits member nations to promote sustainable development. In the eyes of conservative activists, Agenda 21 is a nefarious plot that includes forcibly relocating non-urban dwellers and prescribing mandatory contraception as a means of curbing population growth. The invitation to the Georgia state Senate event noted the presentation would explain: "How pleasant sounding names are fostering a Socialist plan to change the way we live, eat, learn, and communicate to 'save the earth.'"
About 23 minutes into the briefing, Searcy explained how President Obama, aided by liberal organizations like the Center for American Progress and business groups like local chambers of commerce, are secretly using mind-control techniques to push their plan for forcible relocation on the gullible public:
They do that by a process known as the Delphi technique. The Delphi technique was developed by the Rand Corporation during the Cold War as a mind-control technique. It's also known as "consensive process." But basically the goal of the Delphi technique is to lead a targeted group of people to a pre-determined outcome while keeping the illusion of being open to public input.

They don't know that they don't know and they can't even imagine that they don't know what they don't know, so they underestimate others frequently and by a great deal.

(74 posts)Georgia actually turned out very strongly for Obama compared to our neighboring states. Problem is that our pathetic state government is overwhelming republican and their favorite pastime is redrawing all legislative districts that have the slightest tendency to go democratic.

(619 posts)I cannot imagine how else they were even able to secure the majority in the state legislature. They didn't get that from the Dems for a good 15 years after the Reagan Democrats phenomenon, right?

Now if we could just oust this GOP rubber stamper we have in DC. Devin Nunes is as useless (save for his love of his high-dollar constituents) to the average Joe in his district as a snow blower would be. (hint: we've seen snow here - once - in about 40 years) I can't fathom a whole legislature full of dolts like Nunes.

I think the first Delphis were done about the future of energy (oil and gas, etc)
This is really a thing, but it's not for controlling people, it's for trying to figure out what the future is likely to look like so that companies can do planning.
It's certainly possible that someone conducted Delphi groups about the future of energy, and one of the conclusions was that people won't want to live in outer-ring suburbs when gas is >$6/gallon or more, and maybe even that families might be having fewer kids because of the costs of college. These fools probably heard about these predictions and got it in their head that this was some sort of "population control"

(2,150 posts)Delphi groups are an extremely important Organization Development tool, that structures groups of experts to clearly identify problems, and then project the best possible solutions for the future. This is also done in large corporations...and is part of sophisticated, highly efficient strategic planning.

Delphi is based on the principle that forecasts (or decisions) from a structured group of individuals are more accurate than those from unstructured groups. This has been indicated with the term "collective intelligence". The technique can also be adapted for use in face-to-face meetings, and is then called mini-Delphi or Estimate-Talk-Estimate (ETE). Delphi has been widely used for business forecasting and has certain advantages over another structured forecasting approach, prediction markets.

(65,490 posts)explains how the government manipulates the media to do something very much like that--but the manipulation is from the right, not from the left. We see that process in action on FOX News, where propaganda is 24/7. FOX and the cooperative MSM have played along with the most rightwing people in the government (and with the administration when it was a rightwing administration) to manipulate public opinion in order to drag us into illegal wars, like Iraq, and to drum up anticommunist hysteria.
This briefing is itself a symptom of the sort of nutty beliefs people can be made to espouse as a result of being constantly subjected to extreme propaganda of the Beck/Hannity/Rush variety.
But governments don't usually mobilize their people to save the planet or to help the poor and lead more sustainable lives. Governments are almost always more concerned with manipulating people to believe in such things as fighting wars that will feed the military-industrial complex or supporting various other methods to redistribute wealth upward toward those in poower.
