Occupy Syracuse still must leave despite lapsed deadline

That the encampment remained up today as of 9 p.m., 13 hours after the implied deadline, does not mean anything had changed, Miner said during a midafternoon telephone interview.

“We never said we were going to evict them at 8:01,” Miner said. “We said they had 24 hours to remove their materials.”

The mayor declined to discuss what the city’s next step would be or when it would come.
