The U.S. military on Wednesday said American warplanes struck a weapons storage facility in eastern Syria that officials said was being used by Iran-backed militants responsible for dozens of drone and rocket attacks against American troops in the region over the last three weeks.

I was going to reply to the op "Someone else is picking their nose" because I had no clue what they were talking about, and really dislike posts that are obscure and have no point of reference.

Could they challenge a distemper by the US? In these times, wouldn't it be opportune?
Read a blurb there was more provocation. Dismissed it.

We have a scattering of troops there and they are sitting ducks. For no good reason. We backed the losing side in the Syrian Civil war. We should have left but we are now in the little corner of Syria that Assad doesn't control. Why?
