Please help me. Im really stupid. The election is coming and I dont know whether to vote for the guy who is going on trial for trying to conduct a coup against the U.S. or the guy who lowered the cost of pharmaceuticals for medicare patients. Im just really stupid. I dont know.
Im super stupid. I might vote for the guy who suggested taking bleach might help fight COVID or the guy who expanded NATO and restored faith in American leadership among our allies. Im stupid. I just dont know.
Im stupid in every sense of the word. Should I vote for the guy who said he was going to pass an infrastructure bill and never did in four years or the guy who passed a bipartisan infrastructure bill in under a year. You wouldnt believe how stupid I am.
I dont have words for how stupid I am. I dont know if I should vote for the guy whos been called dumb or a moron by numerous former staffers or the guy who passed the first gun safety legislation in 30 years. Im stupid like the sun is hot.
Its all so confusing. Or should I vote for Jill Stein? Im stupid.

(9,233 posts)...express things that way on a specifically Democratic Party website.
Sometimes we forget that we really should be courting and welcoming the undecided, the young, and the newly enlightened ex-repubs.
Edit to add: But honestly, under it all, I'm vermin.

(20,822 posts)It's time for Dems to start taking off the gloves, like Durbin did during the judiciary committee meeting earlier this week! And if anyone with more than two brain cells is still even considering voting for TFG at this point, then there's really no getting through to them anymore.
Think. Again.
(9,233 posts)...at the elected republican elected officials who are screwing over even their republican-voting constituents.
I just think that this coming election is too important to take lightly by insulting and chasing away anyone and everyone who isn't already a hardcore Democratic voter.
There's a good reason why the rightwing trolls try so hard to cause division among the American public.

(9,233 posts)....all of our posts, and all of the reply posts we make on any given thread are all wide open to the public and to non-members to read.
Our posts and threads even show up on google searches if the search keywords fit the subject.
All those "lurkers" who we see join us as members after a time have all been here all along and so are thousands of other non-member viewers.

(95,241 posts)Have as much fun as you want here, but when dealing with voters in the real world, claiming that people who are uncomfortable voting for Biden are stupid is a guaranteed way to lose the electiin.

(24,936 posts)The OP is talking about the 30% that get interviewed at Trump rallies. No amount of rational discussion on the facts are going to change their minds. You know that....they are the terminally stupid. They will die thinking Trump was a great business man and President. No facts to the contrary will be considered.
While this might have been better posted in the Lounge, points for a creative OP.

(5,813 posts)Sad but true...recently began talking politics with a maggot neighbor, the first one I've spoken with in depth. He is catastrophically ignorant and immune to facts, reason, and logic. Yep, he says the US was "perfect" under red don. Nothing will change his mind. And, he's a fox watcher. His brain is gone.

(2,872 posts)"Stupid" may not be the best operative adjective but, it does get the point across. Maybe 'confused?' Anyway, Jill Stein and Cornell West aren't running for president to win. They know beyond any shadow of a doubt that they are not going to win. So, why are they running? Why would some people rationalize voting for them? At least some of them have to realize that doing so could have extremely bad ramifications on the overall electoral outcome.
My thoughts are that they just enjoy being thorns in your side. They want publicity. They want acknowledgement. They were here from a thousand years later (like something they said was unearthed 1000 years from now and seen as profound). I reduce these type of people that live to hear themselves speak and that's about it.
Ladies and Gentlemen, whatever you hear in the next year, flush it with your latest piss and shit. You know what kind of man Joe Biden is. Vote for him. It's that fucking simple. He is a good (not perfect) man. And has already proven to be a damn good president!

(682 posts)... and insightful way to illuminate the stark contrasts between those who depend on facts and careful reasoning to make critical decisions, and those who gleefully wallow in blatant fabrications and implausible conspiracy theories to justify their steadfast refusal to let truth burst their bubble of bigotry. The comedian, Ron White, summed it up perfectly with, "Ya can't fix stupid!"
Good one, Baron!

(1,669 posts)Ron White is funny AF. And some of his (older) material obliquely challenges homophobia without really discussing sexuality. I haven't seen any of his recent stuff though.
