I like Simone but Michael Steele sat there all disappointed with the idea of Bidens success in Carolina with a worried nasty expression. Biden has a big problem. The Democrats are doomed I tell you
And they had Dean Phillips on the show. Steele gives him a chance to defend his plan to stay in the election and attack Biden.
Bad polls and more bullshit. Simone pushed back, but it is not enough. I am turning it off. Make no mistake, Steele has an agenda. I wont watch it again.

(68,715 posts)Dean Phillips who got fewer votes than Williamson an opportunity to trash Biden...they can put what they want on their network. But I won't watch it...and Steele is going on about how bad Trump is but almost everything he did today helps Trump and hurts Biden. I can watch Fox news or lately CNN If I want to watch this sort of crap. Phillips actually said that TFG listens better than Biden with no pushback. Why the hell would they put Phillips on...he did horribly and they pretty much ignored the strong numbers in Biden's win yesterday. There were more shitty polls and very little information on the South Carolina primary on this sorry show.

they hate Trump more than they hate Democrats...and irony or all ironies they are responsible for the rise of Trump... because they despised the Clintons, Hillary in particular, they embraced Trump and sold him as a viable candidate, someone who would grow into the majesty of the office...and when he turned on them, they suddenly saw the light and reinvented themselves as Never Trumpers, telling anyone who would listen they never liked this amoral malicious revenge-fueled pathological liar, this narcissist psychopath...right!

(102,421 posts)and quite disjointed. I don't dislike any of them on their own, but together the dynamics just feel waaay off. I'd be surprised if this show succeeds.

(4,886 posts)Nuance aside, they repeatedly asked him when he was getting out of the race. He repeated said TFG listened to the people. Expect to see that in a GOP campaign ad. Not enough pushback by a long shot.
If he agreed with TFG about the border, I would have hoped they would have asked him about what he has done as a congressman to address the issue and what he would do differently from Biden.
Oh, and he noted saiid Biden shouldnt be running at this stage of life. I may be paraphrasing, but we all know what that means

(86,856 posts)Another rich boi wannbe who has nothing to offer as a Representative in the House, can't imagine how he thinks he has any skill sets for the presidency. I recall his lame attempt at challenging michelle bachman years ago.
Someone is propping him up if he isn't wasting his own funds.

(6,230 posts)He finished a weak 3rd, with less than 2% of the vote. What possible reason would he have to continue when it's obvious that Biden is going to be the candidate?
Turnout was light, but you would expect that in a primary where the front runner is the current President, who is doing an excellent job. The results reflect that.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-primary-elections/south-carolina-president-results
Biden got over 94% in each of the counties.

(4,886 posts)Why not challenge him on the border issue? Im tired of the bull. Did they ask why birder crossings increase under TFG? No. Did they ask how he would address the problem? No. At least they addressed his frequent missed votes.

(160,649 posts)I have been horrified to see the network advance Alicia Menendez so quickly, being the daughter of New Jersey "Democratic" Senator, Cuban-American Robert Menendez, who's once again being heavily investigated for corruption. I'm convinced the network hopes to attract viewers from the US Cuban-American "exile" base, which controls Florida politics and its 29 electors, as well as heavy influence in New Jersey, etc. That group has had political clout which far exceeds any justification. The Cuban "exiles" have retained their power simply by being unique pawns in play in the State Department's maniacal obsession with Cuba which actually has existed since the late 1800's, long before the Cuban people rebelled against the last US puppet, bloody dictator Fulgencio Batista.
Alicia has been propelled up the ladder at MSNBC rapidly from her first day, while she clearly lacks skills, experience, or simple personal presence to justify her appearing anywhere in their lineup. She stands in stark contrast to their other hosts.
Michael and Simone are warm, open, bright, engaging, personally invested, concerned, knowledgeable, conscientious. Michael has clearly leaped totally free of his early Republican political association well before they all went totally criminally insane together. He has been a popular guest with other MSNBC hosts for years, always bringing something worthwhile to bear in conversations.

(50,318 posts)completely ignore his overwhelming victories. It seems the real poll - our votes - doesn't count for them. As for that Phillips slime ball, they failed to mention the investigation into the phony information to get him on the Indiana ballot. You'd think Phillips was a real contender if you watched that show. He's a joke at this point. He couldn't even beat Williamson in S. Carolina.

(38,337 posts)I quit a long time ago. My wife never paid any attention to it. We read all our news and opinion. Reading gives one time to pause and sharpen one's critical thinking skills. Television simply smothers you in bullshit, a continuous gish gallop of garbage and distractions.
In retrospect I think this was always true, even when I was young and my dad was watching Walter Cronkite on the CBS Evening News. Only the volume has changed. What was once half a half hour of garbage interspersed with some little gems of rationality, is now a 24/7 fire hose of raw sewage.
