I just tuned in this morning. WTF happened with the New York Times that has people in a no-doubt-deserved swivet? What have they done? Did they give Hur the high-five on the front page?

(47,583 posts)Not surprised that Saturday's was from Maureen Dowd. So who wrote "Question is not if Biden should step aside but How"? That is brutal and not constructive at all.

This is absolutely the wrong time to pursue, but I suspect NATO should pay more at some point.

From reading the DU it appears there was some nonsense about Biden's age.
ETA: LOL, somehow I missed the comment right before mine. So they covered the NATO comment, but not in the screaming headline it deserved.

(2,055 posts)Mr. Trump, by contrast, does not appear to be suffering the effects of time in such visible ways. Mr. Trump often dyes his hair and appears unnaturally tan. He is heavyset and tall, and he uses his physicality to project strength in front of crowds. When he takes the stage at rallies, he basks in adulation for several minutes, dancing to an opening song, and then holds forth in speeches replete with macho rhetoric and bombast that typically last well over an hour, a display of stamina.
More both sides nonsense. Basically, everything our eyes tell us is wrong about tRump is actually a strength: the insane rhetoric, the fake hair and skin tone, all of it...and his leaning on a podium in shoe lifts and whining for an hour is actually a projection of vigor and stamina.
President Biden's thoughtful and measured demeanor, by contrast, is weak and frail. I guess that's the orange one's advantage. You can't ever get your foot caught in the pedal while trying to stand with your bike if you never get on one.

[New York Times] Why the Age Issue Is Hurting Biden So Much More Than Trump
Both Donald J. Trump and President Biden are over 75. But voters are much less likely to worry that Mr. Trump is too old to serve.
fucking awesome. weve reached the point in this pile-on where the press is now asking how could this all have happened, as if news coverage is something that just spontaneously generates itself, magically, and isnt shaped by reporters and editors hungry for a narrative.
the Times is like an arsonist, standing in middle of the street, gas can in hand, wondering aloud how all these fires got started.
such a mystery!
